The
405 range of Single Mount Adaptors are machined from aluminium alloy then anodised for corrosion resistance and long life. Fixings are stainless steel.
These mounting adaptors are designed to fit a range of mast/pole/boom top sizes in order to mount
A100 series anemometers as well as
W200 Series Windvanes (see table below).
For quoted/highest accuracy and "First Class" performance A100 series anemometers must be mounted using 405 or 405/27P mounts. Anemometers supplied with MEASNET calibration certificates are calibrated on a 1inch pole & 405 mount - use of a significantly larger diameter pole or mounting-adapter is likely to invalidate the calibration.
The large 405/135 mounting adapter should NOT be used if First Class performance is required (e.g. in Wind Energy related applications).
The 405 (for 1 inch pole) and 405/27P (for 27 mm pole, or 3/4 inch IPS/NPS pole) both include a machined slot which allows the instrument cable to fit snugly against the mount.
Use of the 405 type (or similarly sized 405/27P type) is required for high-accuracy "First Class" applications.
The 405 mount is used for MEASNET calibrations of our anemometers, and was also used for the A100 series classification tests, so use of a 1 inch pole and the 405 (or 27mm pole and 405/27P) is necessary to ensure that "First Class" performance is achieved.
A larger 405/135 mount is available to fit 35mm (1.35 inch = 1 inch BSP) diameter mast tops, but it is
not suitable for high-accuracy, or "First Class", applications because the increased bulk of this larger mount/pole combination interferes slightly with the airflow past the anemometer and can have a small effect on the calibration and performance.
We always advise that an anemometer is calibrated using the mounting adaptor (and representative pole) that will be used in the final installation.
A version of the 405 to suit 0.5inch/13mm poles is NOT available because such small poles are usually not strong/stiff enough to support our sensors.
